Training Services
Bringing trauma-informed understanding into practice.
I provide customized trainings designed to help professionals, organizations, and communities understand trauma and respond in role-appropriate, effective, and compassionate ways. My trainings are known for being engaging, research-based, and deeply practical—grounded in both neuroscience and lived human experience.
I’ve had the privilege of training a wide range of audiences including Hennepin County Court Judges and courtroom staff, Hennepin County Public Defenders, Federal Probation in the district of Minnesota, and teams across social service agencies, schools, and churches.
Whether you’re part of a legal system, social service organization, or faith community, my goal is to help your team build the skills they need to see and respond to trauma in role appropriate ways. I help systems develop a shared language around trauma, strengthen emotional resilience, and promote practices that lead to healing and accountability rather than burnout and re-traumatization.
Narrative Exposure Therapy Training
Narrative Exposure Therapy (NET) is an evidence-based, short-term treatment for individuals who have experienced complex or repeated traumatic events, including survivors of war, torture, abuse, or chronic violence. NET helps clients create a coherent, chronological life narrative that integrates traumatic memories into a meaningful whole—reducing symptoms of PTSD and restoring a sense of dignity and continuity.
As a member of the U.S.-based NET training team, I offer comprehensive NET training and consultation for organizations seeking to build trauma treatment capacity. Trainings are for licensed, pre-licensed, and student therapists and can include:
Foundational training in the theory and structure of NET
Applied practice with live demonstrations and role plays
Ongoing consultation and supervision for implementation
Trauma Responsiveness & Systems Training
These trainings are designed for organizations that want to deepen their trauma-informed culture and develop role-appropriate responses to trauma and stress—whether interacting with clients, colleagues, or within systems of care and justice.
Participants learn how trauma impacts attention, behavior, emotion regulation, and relational safety, and how to translate that understanding into daily practice. Each training is customized to your context—recognizing the distinct demands placed on professionals in law, education, healthcare, social services, and ministry.
Common training topics include:
Understanding the neurobiology of trauma and resilience
Managing secondary trauma and burnout
Building trauma-responsive teams and systems
Working effectively with justice-involved individuals and families
Integrating trauma-informed practices into leadership and organizational culture
Approach
I believe that effective training is experiential. I use story, humor, reflection, and interactive discussion to create a space that invites curiosity and compassion—without shame or judgment. My goal is not just to increase knowledge, but to transform the way teams see and respond to human suffering.
